sarah1-500Elise Hayden was born in Belper, Derbyshire on 13th November 1972.  She has been married to Darren since April 2011.

She has a daughter Jade, stepdaughters Amelia and Connie, and one grand daughter Ellie Mae.

In her early career she worked as a Sales Executive at her father’s company after studying for 11 GCSEs and 6 A Levels, after which she stopped work to bring up her daughter Jade.  When she returned to work it was at Woodlands Residential Home, and as a result decided to pursue a career in nursing.  She qualified as a nurse in 2003 and continued to work in Lincoln as a community nurse as well as in the Accident and Emergency Department at Lincoln General Hospital.

Elise completed a degree in cancer and palliative care, continued on to study for her specialist practitioner degree, before successfully securing a job as a case manager in Sleaford.  She then continued to train and qualified as a nurse prescriber and now works as a nurse practitioner at a GP surgery as well as clinical lead for cancer & palliative care, dementia, frailty and adult safeguarding.

Elise wrote her children’s stories before Jade was born, initially for Jade’s half brother Dean.  The stories were read to him, Jade and other children in the family.  They were kept in a cupboard for years until she decided to publish them.
